Toshiba TLPMT7..HI-DEF Maniac

There are few projectors out there that offer a host of options and are truly accommodating to the user who doesn’t want to have to keep updating their projector. A fine example of a projector that was manufactured a few years ago, yet still is relevant in today’s market is the Toshiba TLP-MT7.

The Toshiba TLP-MT7 was ready for distribution way back in 2002, and didn’t complete its run until over two years later. This is hard to say about many projectors today, since the life spans of most projectors are short, due to the frequent upgrades. The Toshiba TLP-MT7 was built to last with quality components, and features that would make your dog jump through burning rings of fire.

In this day and age of HDTV compatible programming on television, the most important features for a projector to have, in my opinion, is to have high resolution, and the inputs to match. The Toshiba TLP-MT7 has plenty of resolution to handle the HDTV nuts out there, and a little to spare. It comes equipped with 1280x720p, with compression ability allowing you to push up to 1600x1200p.

When you combine the TLP-MT7’s resolution abilities with its HDTV inputs (up to 1080i), you have a force to be reckoned with. Watching Superbowl XXXX, and yes it is available in High-Def this year, will be absolutely stunning on this projector. Not only does the TLP-MT7 offer HDTV inputs, but it also offers every other input that you can think of including the likes of Component Video, and a Digital Input.

The versatility of this machine is almost unmatched. The TLP-MT7’s native aspect ratio of 16:9 is a suitable match. The one thing you might want to avoid is watching Hockey that is not offered in High Definition. Playing a white screen (because the ice is so gosh darn bright) that is only available in 4:3 aspect ratio might hurt your LCD panel. But then again, this can be said of any 16:9 projector.

The TLP-MT7 employs a 150W projector lamp inside, and this is what powers the 1000 ANSI lumens being pumped onto your screen. Watching football during the day shouldn’t be much of a problem considering the brightness of this machine. However, you may have to shoot your image into an area that is somewhat protected from ambient light. The projector lamp lasts for 1000 hours and can be purchased by clicking here TLP-MT7

The TLP-MT7 has a contrast ratio of 400:1, and although it doesn’t sound like much and doesn’t look that good on paper, it still maintains great depth of color. Saturation levels are amazing thanks to quality construction on the part of Toshiba.

This has been another exciting review, and hopefully it will inspire you to check out some of the more affordable projectors from our past.
