NEC and The Starus Memory Machine

Not only is the new NEC Starus projector one of the best large venue projectors on the market in regards to image quality and brightness, but much like the elephant, it never forgets. The NEC Starus NC2500S is the latest DLP projector to incorporate the best that Texas Instruments has to offer in regards to resolution and has the brightness that only NEC can provide.

The new Starus machines are all the rage thanks to its programmable memory, allowing users to pre-set its lens to automatically focus to optimize the aspect ratio and range. Depending on where the projector is positioned, the lens would find the optimal range to project a clear picture.

Not only would it be a crisp focus, but the lens shift is also mechanized and automatic to ensure a proper screen image according to position and aspect ratio. This is great for those who use their projector for both television and movies. Even if the projector is sitting in the same position, the automatic memory pre-sets allow for smooth transition between the aspect ratios making it very easy for you to switch back and forth.

Another innovation that NEC has introduced to the Starus line is the projector lamp memory pre-set. You may be getting sick of all this talk about pre-sets, but once you start using them, you will never go back. The projector lamp memory pre-set is all about making sure that you are using the correct strength for the respective aspect ratio and range.

The brightness is regulated and changes when you switch between distances and aspect ratios. As we all know, the screen must be brighter when using a wider aspect ratio because more area on the DLP chip is being transferred onto your screen. This memory allows the user to maintain the same level of brightness regardless of the position or the aspect ratio.

Even if your projector suddenly has to be placed very close to the screen and therefore displaying a smaller picture, the projector lamp memory will compensate by reducing the lamp power. This will eventually save you hours of life on you projector lamp because there is a constant level of brightness.

The other important feature is the easy replacement of the projector lamps through a easy-access panel on the back of the projector. This is especially useful when your projector is mounted in the ceiling. You won’t have to disengage the projector from the mount because even in small areas where you do not have much room, it is easy to open the panel and replace your lamp.
