The Small Guy Gets Barco Projectors
Barco and IBM Global Financing are teaming up to bring the Barco projector experience to smaller events, concerts and conventions. For years, Barco projectors have been used by multi-million dollar rock bands to put on their equally expensive rock concerts. From the Rolling Stones to Nickelback and every band in between, Barco projectors have been there to give the rock obsessed fan the concert of their lives. Barco projectors are the standard for high-end rock concerts, they display the infamously sensual, strange and psychedelic on massive projector screens, bringing the wildest imaginations of the performers to life. But Barco projectors, because of the super high-quality images they project, are also extremely expensive, and that is where the recently announced deal with IBM Global Financing comes in.
IBM Global Financing has agreed to extend credit to qualified customers who want to lease Barco’s CLM line of projectors including the R10+ projector and the HD8. This will allow companies and organizations that because of budget restraints cannot purchase one of these projectors, to lease either projector for a short period of time. Another added bonus for companies looking to take advantage of the short-term lease of Barco projectors, is that they won’t have to deal with replacing the projector lamps inside the projectors. The cost to replace projector lamps for these ultra-high performance machines can be extremely taxing.
The agreement with IBM will likely create a sizeable new market for Barco, enabling tens of thousands of organizations to plan spectacular events. Shares of Barco Corporation and IBM Global Financing were expected to rise on news of the announcement.
Barco was established in the 1930’s in Belgium and stands for Belgium American Radio Corporation. Throughout the company’s long history they have always focused on manufacturing high-technology electronics. Originally the company produced radios built with American parts, but then moved into television and projector manufacturing. Today Barco is heavily invested in 3D imaging technologies.
