Panasonic continues to make high-quality, relatively inexpensive LCD projectors for home theater or business use.

For the past 5 years Panasonic has introduced what they call the AE series of projectors. These AE series projectors are ideal for home and classroom use as they employ LCD technology and are therefore more cost effective for individual buyers or buyers with smaller budgets like public schools. Higher contrast ratios allow the user to differentiate between various darker shades that appear on the screen, making darker scenes in videos more discernable to the viewer. Traditionally contrast ratios have been much, much lower on projectors than on rear projection televisions or flat screens TVs. But in recent years, front projectors have come a long way and can now produce contrast ratios that are competitive.
