NEC Aims Projectors and Lamps at Big Business

NEC has announced the release of two projectors that are manufactured and being released to be used as work horses in corporate, presentation style settings. The projector model numbers NP110 and NP215 are designated for these new, business ready NEC projectors and are designed to act as replacements for the older NEC NP100 and NP200 projectors.

NEC is a force in the so-called “value� business projector industry and the NP110 and the NP215 are excellent additions to the NEC family of digital business projectors. The idea behind value business projectors is simple - they are cost-effective, basic specification machines that are designed to last for the long haul. For example, the NP110 and the NP215 are moderately lightweight, at only around 6 pounds, have contrast resolutions of 2000:1 and a lamp brightness or lumens rate of 2500 ANSI lumens. The two projectors have slightly different resolutions, with the junior NP110 displaying SVGA resolution of 600 x 800 pixels and the NP215 displaying XGA resolution of 1024 x 768.

NEC has included the NP110 and the NP215 projectors in their continuing NP value series projector line and this year models do not deviate from the standard options. For example, they both include 7-watt speakers and the quick 3-4 second shutdown and start-up. The 3-4 second start-up is made possible by the projector lamp and ballast technology that is integrated into the projector itself. Start-up times for most projector lamps can be up to 30 seconds with other projectors.

Overall, these projectors are difficult to beat, especially when you consider their price-tags. The NP110 projector is set to retail for around $500 and the NP215 is set to retail for around $600.
