The Sanyo PLC-XU55 was first manufactured in August of 2003 and enjoyed a long period in production, stretching all the way up until February of this year (2005) when Sanyo decided to cease production on the model. The projector has some impressive specs to boast about. For instance, the projector performs with a contrast ratio of 350:1 and an aspect ratio of 4:3 making the users cinematic experience enjoyable to watch to even in dark scenes where most projectors can often fail to produce a detailed assessment of the images the DVD is feeding into projector at any given time. The Sanyo PLC-XU55 also is fully loaded for any type of HDTV setup, including the super definition setting of 1080i. The projector also includes DVI-I inputs that allow the user to display their computer image on the any screen of reasonable size.
